It's full of realistic and relatable scenes/situations; I learned a lot about life and love. I cried almost every single episode (it's so deep and emotional ;-;) and I died of laughter every episode. After i watched this drama, i really disappointed when deok sun end up with taek when she supposedly with jung hwan ????????????? I read in a lot of sites the sadness and sympathy for Jung Hwan ( I feel the same way) but his love story gave us all a deep lesson. The girl was not aware that he was loved by him all along. But this drama is more than just the love triangle. He loved the girl and in life that's how it should be. It's been months since I finished this drama and I'm still not over it. Even though the story was simple and the episodes were reeeaaally long, it still managed to capture my heart and the actors managed to convey all the emotions so perfectly.
I also really liked the clues as to Duk Seon's husband which were cleverly placed throughout the series. I love how this drama leaves its audience feeling warm and heart-filled. I hesitated to watch it bc i didn't like the poster. i shipped deok sun - jung hwan more..until i watched ep 18, i really thought that she and jung hwan.to the poster Too beautiful for words. We love not because we want to be loved back but because we just love, we can't help to love the people around us. This drama made me laugh and cry and feel all type of ways and the themes of friendship, family and love were portrayed so so well.
It makes us fall in love not only with the main characters, but also the supporting characters such as the ahjummas and the fathers.
This drama will leave you a really deep footprint in your heart. I can't imagine if Jung Hwan's character is portrayed by other actor instead of Ryu Jun Yeol. I'm glad that Ryu Jun Yeol's career skyrocketed after reply 1988 has ended. (SPOILER ALERT) My heart breaks for Jung Hwan, but can u imagine if she ended up with him instead of Taek?
I swear, this is the best korean drama I've ever watched that I rewatched it five times.Whoever have not watch this series definitely should put this in your watch list. I was hesitant to watch this at first because it is too long -- each episode is like 1hr and 30 min, with 20 episodes. each and every character was soooo loveable..their own struggles, relationships all were potrayed so simply but beautifully..besides every episodes teach you so much about life,love,family..saranghae reply series..saranghae reply 1988! but as per all the comments here saying it was really good and when you look to all time best kdrama reply 1988 is always on the list.. Every woman wants to feel that she is important in her loved one's life and that she is physically desirable. But as I watched each episode, I've grown to like the characters and story. At first, it was hard to adjust to the setting since I barely watch 80s dramas, but as I continued to watch I found myself liking the style and setting a lot more than the dramas I normally watch. Too less information about the situation of the guys today. I recommend this drama to viewers because it will make you laugh, love and cry and understand human relationships. She always gets into fights with her older sister Bo-Ra (Ryoo Hye-Young). Sun-Woo’s mother has raised Sun-Woo and his younger sister alone after Sun-Woo’s father passed away.Dong-Ryong likes dancing and hanging out with his 4 friends.i agree with army reply 1988 is my best family drama of all second is my father is strange. they didn't even show their wedding, instead they focused with bora and sun woo's wedding...ugh! and you should never blame anyone if you yourself didnt do anything or been always on hesitations... I have watched Reply 1997 earlier because of Jung Eun Ji and Seo In Guk and I liked it.
